This will give you insight into the Schuco door system used. You often see doors of 65, 70, or 90 mm. However, other thicknesses can also be encountered. This thickness is very important for finding the correct hinges.

How to determine a swing direction?
Stand on the side where you open the element towards you. So: you pull the door towards you. Which side has the hinges? That is the swing direction! So, if the hinges are on the right side of the door when you pull the door towards you, you need an RH version. For some articles, it is important to also check whether a door opens inwards or outwards, such as with hinges. In that case, you look at both the swing direction RH or LH and whether it's an outward-opening door or an inward-opening door.

Locks, an important component in doors!
Schuco offers locks in many shapes and sizes; small details can make a big difference. Always check if a lock has this function. You can test this by locking the lock and then pressing the handle on the inside downwards. Below, we clearly explain what an anti-panic function is and what options are available.
- Faceplate: U-shaped, or flat faceplate?

What is an anti-panic function in a lock?
Anti-panic locks can be opened from the inside, without a key, in the escape direction (even when the lock is locked). These locks are available in three different functions, each causing the lock to react differently after opening.

Anti-panic lock: function E/B/D
Function E: handle or push bar on the inside; pull handle/fixed knob on the outside, or nothing on the outside
From the outside, the door can only be opened via the cylinder. From the inside, you can open the door by pressing the handle downwards, both when the cylinder lock is locked and when it is not locked. If you exit using the anti-panic function, the door will then fall back into the lock. The door is still not freely accessible from the outside, only by using a key in the cylinder lock.

Function B: handle or push bar on the inside; handle on the outside
From the outside, access to the door is possible if the cylinder lock is unlocked. From the inside, one can exit whether the lock is closed, by unlocking the anti-panic function, or when the lock is not closed. After using the door with the anti-panic function, the door closes again, and one cannot enter from the outside. This is only possible when the lock is unlocked with the key.

Function D: handle or push bar on the inside; handle on the outside
After using the anti-panic function, the door remains unlocked. It is then possible to go from inside to outside and from outside to inside through this door. This is often used when this door is an access door for emergency services, such as the fire department.
